THE CLUB whose whole future has been thrown into doubt after it’s owner was placed at the centre of the “spot-fixing” allegations has been allowed to resume it’s season at Aveley this Friday.
Aveley may well now find themselves with a bumper crowd as fans and media flock to the Mill Field to see what could still be Croydon Athletics’ last game.
The Croydon website states: “The Ryman Premier away match against Aveley, originally arranged for Monday 20th September, will now take place on Friday 24th September at 7.45pm. We will field a full and competitive side for this match so come along and see the Rams in action for the first time in two weeks!
“The future of the club remains under negotiation, but discussions have taken place over the last week and will continue into next week, with a number of options on the table. Both the Ryman League and the Club remain very positive that a satisfactory conclusion can be reached before next Friday.
“Further news will be posted when known”.
