SEVEN games and seven red cards is one of the key reasons, Tilbury FC now sit in the relegation zone after losing 2-1 to Wingate & Finchley last night.
The fact is that Tilbury impressed for large parts of the game with pace wing play on the break.
But with Wingate going 1-0 up in the fifth minute after a Lewis Jones strike from just inside the box, things were always going to be difficult.
Israel Toko troubled Wingate in the 17th minute when he broke down the right, outpaced the defender before being dispossessed neatly as he was just abut to pull the trigger.
James Marrable has been in fine form and he had to be as he kept out chance after chance.
In the 48th minute, the Dockers’ hard work paid off when Joel Etienne-Clark fored home a fine individual effort.
In the 60th minute, Ajet Shehu restored the lead with a deft header that fooled Marrable and sent the Dockers crashing to second bottom in the table.
Matters were made worse when Chris Manangu was sent off for a foul on Shehu.
