Stephen Metcalfe MP: Commons, Conference and Ed

OUR MP’s, as you can appreciate are busy people. So when we pin them down we sometimes have to roll a number of issues together in a three-minute interview.

South Basildon and East Thurrock MP Stephen Metcalfe was at the official opening of Gateway FM in the Eastgate Centre in Basildon.

Whilst there we asked Stephen to reflect on his forceful speech on Equitable Life in the House of Commons; to look forward to next week’s Conservative Party conference in Birmingham and naturally to ask whether the Labour Party have picked the right Miliband?

  1. As loathe as Mr Metcalfe may be to visit this site given its web address, I suggest he reads this article:

Ed Miliband was elected largely thanks to the INDIVIDUAL votes of voluntary political levy-paying union members.

To claim that the “unions and their bloc vote pushed him forward” is disingenuous.
