THE official term used was that the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation (DC) will be “absorbed” into Thurrock Council however the only thing DC staff seem to be absorbed in was the situations vacant page of the papers.
YourThurrock understands that staff have been issued with redundancy warning letters. Although the warning relates to March, it isn’t written in stone and many staff are already making preparations to go well before then.
Staff have confided in YourThurrock that they do not anticipate many being taken on. With Thurrock Council engaged in a recruitment freeze, prospects do not look good. However, some believe that the award-winning IT team may have a part to play as well as some members of the planning team.
YT contacted the communication dpeartment but they had not replied at the time of going to press.
Can someone please tell me what the Thurrock Thames Gateway Development Corporation actually do or did, from what I have seen they produce a lot of hot air but nothing substancial
