Lakeside shops help Macmillan

The Marks and Spencers café at Lakeside took part in the world’s biggest coffee morning last month and collected £857.02 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The total came from special food promotions, collection buckets and donations of 50p from every cup of coffee sold in store between 10am and 3pm.

The M&S café team also donned green fundraising t-shirts and provided customers with musical entertainment in a bid to raise as much money as possible for Macmillan.

Lakeside’s branch of HSBC also raised money for the cancer charity during the course of its official reopening celebrations following an extensive refit. The HSBC team celebrated with customers on the day and collected £159.69 for Macmillan.

Paul Lancaster, General Manager at Lakeside says; “We are always proud to support the charitable work of our retailers and are delighted that both Marks and Spencer and HSBC were able to raise considerable amounts of money to support the great work that Macmillan does.”
