A HOMELESS TEENAGER pled guilty to the theft of two lenses worth nearly £4,000, at Grays magistrates court.

Christopher Isitt, 19, Park Avenue, Orpington, was seen by customers taking two Sony camera lenses from the Sony Centre in the Lakeside shopping centre on July 15th.

He was stopped by security staff in the car park, where the two lenses were found nearby. The lense were valued at £3,369.98

In mitigation, his defending solicitor told the court that Isitt was homeless and sleeping on his friends couch. He was keen to get training relating to the building trade.

Chair of magistrates Wendy Black sentenced him to a twelve month supervision order.

  1. So you can nick £4k worth of camera equipment and as long as you give the sob story that you are homeless you get a slap on the wrist, what a joke these magistates are, no wonder this countries justice system is falling apart with people like that handing out the sentences.

  2. They should also fine Sony shop for making it easy for him to nick that amount of value items!
When I went there last year to buy a camcorder, they were up my arse every second til they got me money! So where were they when he took the stuff?

Yes he did wrong, yes he should be sorted, (The Birch Comes to mind, but then that’s not legal in this country anymore!). There has to be a deterrant, slap on the wrist is not enough!
