TILBURY are now just one point off the relegation zone after a hard fought but ultimately fruitless 90 minutes against Brentwood Town at Chadfields.
Big spenders Brentwood had been tipped by many as promotion candidates but their season has spluttered somewhat.
In a tight affair Tilbury started the game strongly, however on 24 minutes and against the run of play, Brentwood took the lead. When pressure from winger Ide Okojie saw Ben Turner slip and place Okojie through on goal only for Marrable to slip also, leaving Okojie to place the ball into the goal.
It took to 47 minutes for the next chance as the Docker’s Nathan Gordon twisted and turned he unleashed a shot which rebounded off the crossbar. With Tilbury pushing on, they left themselves open at the back, and on 59 minutes the game was put to bed when Okojie picked up the ball on the right and cut in to fire a poor strike which landed to substitute Joel Barnett, who struck the ball hard and low past the diving Marrable to give the Blues the three points.
