Portfolio holder for communities and Tilbury councillor, Lynn Worrall has been involved in the community all her life. Indeed, she may be a perfect example of what a community representative should be. Lynn started out as a community volunteer, progressing through to the community forums before becoming a councillor in May 2008.
Two years later, Lynn becomes a portfolio holder for communities. That would have been fine but now with £15 million worth of cuts to find in a year, Lynn has the challenge of keeping the libraries and sports centres open while encouraging participation in the community.
Lynn is also keen on making sure the Olympics doesn’t pass Thurrock by.
YourThurrock sat down with Lynn to assess how the first six months have been.
