THIS clash in the lower reaches of the Ryman One North was the classic ‘six pointer’ and in the end it was the travelling Dockers who were celebrating.
The only goal of a tight game came on 16 minutes from Michael Toner who forced the ball into an empty net after a mix-up in the home defence.
Moments earlier Dockers had come close to taking the lead when Leyton were grateful to keeper Aaron Anand who denied Tilbury’s Gary Henty.
Leyton hit back and Craig Prendergast came close to an equaliser just before the break and then struck a fierce drive just over the bar in the second half as his side fought hard to get back on level terms but in the end Dockers were able to hang on to their hard-fought spoils.
