POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in Ruskin Road, Chadwell St Mary at 4.30pm yesterday.
Two young children were knocked down by a Ford Galaxy.
The two young children who are 7 and 5 years of age received serious injuries in the collision and were taken to the Royal London Hospital.
The driver of the blue Ford Galaxy was arrested at the scene and taken into police custody.
The road was closed for a number of hours to allow police to investigate the scene.
