GROUND staff from across the borough are working harder than santa to try to ensure that fans see some festive football over the christmas period.
Thurrock are set to play Chelmsford on Boxing Day at 1pm. Tommy South and the team have been down at the ground every day making preparations for a key fixture which should attract a bumper crowd.
While across at East Thurrock, the Rocks team have once again been attempting to replicate the herculean effort that saw the pitch prepared for a key fixture against Potters Bar that saw them leap to the top of the table.
Secretary, Neil Speight said: “Once again, we have done all we can. The pitch is in good condition. The only thing that could be against us is a frost.”
Many hope the Bank Holiday Monday fixture is on as it is a key local derby as East Thurrock take on Grays Athletic.
Tilbury are away at Brentwood and Aveley travel to Hornchurch.
