Pupils shine in road safety test

Twenty-five Thurrock primary schools took part in Kerbcraft Road Safety training in the past year.

The training is designed for children, aged five to seven who are taken out in small groups to the roadside, where they learn to find safe places to cross the road and ways of dealing with parked cars and junctions.

The training takes place over a period of nine weeks, with sessions lasting an hour and half.

Those pupils who took part were asked to complete an evaluation questionnaire and all those that were returned were entered into a prize draw.

The winning questionnaire was selected at random; the winner of the prize draw was Aimee Davis from Little Thurrock Primary who won a £50 Lakeside gift card.

Before the end of term, Thurrock Council’s Road Safety Team presented Aimee with her prize during assembly at the Rectory Road school.
