WHETHER it is internet gossip or a properly co-ordinated protests, the authorities are gearing up for fuel protests around the country, starting in Thurrock this weekend.
It is anticipated that the protests will start at 10am on Saturday at Coryton Oil Refinery, The Manorway in Stanford le Hope.
Further disputes are anticipated in Grangemouth, Middlesborough and South Wirral.
The protests come as petrol prices have soared with many people spending over £70 as they fill up their family cars.
A spokesperson for Petroplus has told YourThurrock that “They are aware of possible plans to demonstrate and are working with Essex Police”.
The Manorway was the scene of major demonstrations in September after hundreds of eco-protestors took over the area and chained themselves to lorries.
