TOMORROW will see one of the most exciting fixtures of the Ryman Division One North season as league leaders East Thurrock United take on the team in second place, Needham Market.
East Thurrock under the sagacious guidance of boss John Coventry have won their last twelve games in a row. They have shaken off every over team in the league apart from Needham Market who remain five points behind but with three games in hand.
John Coventry had a good long look at the Marketmen on Wednesday when they came to Rookery Hill to play Grays Athletic. By the looks of that game, Needham seem to have a “we’ll score one more than you” philosophy and have a superior goal difference than East Thurrock but John Coventry remains philosophical.
John said: “Needham are a good team. They have pace and an exciting strike force but they lack pace at the back which was exposed by Simon Thomas on Wednesday.
“They also didn’t get a lot of support from the midfield.
“We go in confident, we have all the tools and we are really looking forward to the game.
