FORMER William Edwards student and West Ham star, Chris Cohen returns to his first club today for the first time in the FA Cup 4th round tie against Nottingham Forest.
Chris, 23, made his debut for the Hammers at the age of sixteen in 2003. He went on to play for three seasons before going on to Yeovil and then Nottm Forest for whom he played over 150 times.
Speaking to YourThurrock, Chris told us how he felt, going back to the “spiritual home”
Chris said: “It will be exciting. I started to play for West Ham when I was six and my family are all still fans indeed my father is a season ticket holder.
“We go into this game on a run of good form. Nottm Forest start slowly but we are now into gear and so we think we have a great chance.”
“I think West Ham can stay up. We want to get promoted and it would be great to see play them in the Premier League.
“I will always be very grateful to everyone at West Ham. I learned so much.
“My advice to all the aspiring young footballers in Thurrock is simply to listen and learn.”
