WHEN THE Class of 2010 walked down Nethan Drive for their first day at school, it was called Aveley comprehensive., It then changed its name to Belhus Chase. Now it is Ormiston Park Academy (OPA). The school is changing and moving forward. What is clear is that they couldn’t have done it without the class of 2010, who according to inspirational headteacher, Tess Walker, have been the trailblazers!
Each awards evening at Thurrock schools is different. OPA has a very relaxed feel with round tables, nibbles and drinks. It feels more like a jazz concert! What it does illustrate is that this is a relaxed but confident school, assured in its own identity and knowing where it is going.
If you didn’t see yourself go up and receive an award, don’t panic. Parts 2 and 3 will run on our education page later in the week.
