Ryman Div One North

East Thurrock Utd v Tilbury

EAST THURROCK boss John Coventry makes no apology for using the cliche that he is taking it “one game at a time” but tonights game against local rivals Tilbury takes on huge significance because if the Rocks win this one then they will go to the top of the table.

After a period on top earlier in the season, the Rocks have fallen to fifth but they have always been in the play off places. Needham Market looked unbeatable but they have lost form recently whilst the Rocks have carried on.

John Coventry said: “We keep our shape and nerve and continue to soldier on. We are far from complacent. Indeed, we have been slow starters recently and have been lucky not to go two goals down in some of our games recently.”

Covo will be acutely aware that they have gone out in the play offs twice in the last two seasons and so will covet the automatic place that comes with winning the Ryman Div One North.

Meanwhile, Dockers boss Paul Vaughan goes into the game with nothing to lose.

He said: “Saturdays victory has been a real confidence booster for us. We go into this game with nothing to lose however I have deep respect for any Covo team and will not be reckless.”

Kick off at the Rookery Hill is at 7.45pm.
