AVELEY Bowls Club have sent out a massive thank you to Veoila Mardyke Trust after a cash injection of £8,000 has helped pay for a key part of the bowling green.
No bowler likes to see their balls fall down into the ditch but if they do at the wonderful club then they can be assured that they are state of the art ditches supplied by the trust.
Treasurer, Joe Dark said: “We had £20,000 pounds worth of refurbishments to make. Through Andy Furze and the Veoila Mardyke Trust they helped us with £8,000 worth of improvements and repairs, most significantly the ditches round the side of the green.
“The old ones had rotted away and they are a vital part of the bowling green. We are very very grateful.”
