COALHOUSE Fort is one of the most important historic sites in Thurrock and is completely run by volunteers who give their time freely to help preserve the fort for future generations to enjoy.
Curator Ken Levy said: “We at the fort have lost a number of useful colleagues over the past year and now find ourselves with insufficient members to assist on the open days.
“We would be most gratified if any persons are able to help out in our tearoom, as guides (training given) or just general services on our open days on the last Sunday and Bank Holidays of each month from March to November.
We also require volunteers for our Wednesday work days.
If you have an interest in our history and would like to volunteer don’t hesitate to contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. or telephone 01375 677764.
