Women pleads for the return of her guitar

Police are appealing for information after a handmade distinctive guitar was stolen during a burglary in Bradleigh Avenue, Grays.

Between 11.20pm on Saturday, April 30 and 11.30am the next day, suspects gained entry through the front door and stole a black handmade American walnut lacquered wooden guitar with gold coloured accessories and a name on the head in gold stickers, that could possibly be removed. It is worth an estimated £1,200. A handbag, a purse, £130 cash and a mobile phone were also stolen, making the total estimated haul worth £1,560.

Investigating officer, Pc Mona Seldon, said: “This guitar is unique and is of great sentimental value to the victim and her family. If you are approached to buy this guitar, then we want to hear from you immediately. Also, if you were in the area at the time and saw anything suspicious, you may hold information vital to our investigation. I urge you to get in touch if you know anything so we can return this guitar to its rightful owners and bring justice for this family.”
