Four men arrested in connection with the death of a horse at a farm in North Stifford have been released on bail.
A pony was found at the farm on Monday, May 9, with injuries which proved to be fatal.
A 31-year-old man who was arrested has been released on bail until July 19. Investigations to date have established that this man was not the person seen in the barn where the horse was found.
A 23-year-old man from South Ockendon and a 29-year-old man from Grays have both been released on bail until June 13.
A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of criminal damage has also been released on bail to July 20.
