ALL CULTURAL festivals begin with a single step. In 1947, the Edinburgh Festival began in a couple of village halls in the Scottish capital city. Now it is the biggest arts festival in the world. And so it may be in Thurrock.
Matt Lane from the Royal Opera House opened proceedings the a special showcase event at the Woodview Campus of South Essex College.
Special guest was Corringham born and world-renowned composer, Mark-Anthony Turnage.
Mr Turnage presented an opening address and then handed over to a number of hand-picked performers from a wide variety of the arts who illustrated the depth of talent in the borough.
