World cuisine at Stifford Infants

PUPILS, staff and visitors to Stifford Clays Infant and Nursery school enjoyed a multicultural day by dressing in cultural clothes and tasting food from around the world. Food was tasted from France, Italy, India, China and Mexico. Croissants, samosas, noodles, fajitas and pasta were made and cooked – led by the schools ‘Let’s Get Cooking’ club.

The children played games and learned facts and information about different countries throughout the day. There were also opportunities to share their cultural experiences personally and to talk about their families. At the end of the day children took home a variety of recipes to cook and share.

The event was a resounding success and as one of the organisers said: “We would like to thank the children and their families for taking part so enthusiastically in this multicultural event. It was a memorable opportunity to learn about other cultures which the children (and staff) enjoyed”.
