Thurrock 2 v 2 Lowestoft Town

By Bill Robinson

It was the visitors that started the better putting the home side under pressure from the onset, winning three corners and a dangerous free kick on the edge on the Thurrock box all within the first five minutes.

But when Dean Cracknell put a thro ball into the path of Lee Boylan he cleverly lobbed the keeper to give Thurrock the lead after 7 minutes against the run of play.

Lowestoft came back into the game in the 36th minute when a fine cross from wide on the right found the head of Guentchev who directed the ball past Holloway and into the far corner of the net.

In the second half and on the hour Rocky Baptist put Thurrock ahead, once again a Cracknell Boylan one two gave Boylan the shot that was saved by keeper Reynolds and Rocky Baptist was on hand to shoot home from eight yards out.

Thurrock an Lowestoft both made changes and the game lost momentum and in the 72nd minute the visitors gained their second goal when substitute Forshaw drove home a loose ball from close range.

A fine game of pre season football enjoyed by all ended all square.
