Horndon cricket: Price leads way as Horndon go fourth

HHCC 151 for 9 of 52 over’s
Hutton 101 all out

HHCC picked up another massive 20 points in this SNEL div 2 clash with Hutton, which has seen them jump up to 4th in the league table

HHCC were in trouble early on as they were reduced to 50 for 5 thanks to some very well disciplined bowling form Hutton, but a welcome return to the game for long time veteran Andrew Hilditch saw him grind out a solid and patient 47 and with support from the lower order Horndon pushed to 151 for 9 from the last ball of the innings, a total that would be competitive if HHCC bowled tight.

What Hutton were not expected was HHCC spearhead young pace bowler Conner Price to put in 2 explosive spells. In his first he comfortably removed both openers and number 3 showing electric pace and with the help of bowling partner Jack Marson (1 Wicket) reduced the home side to 26 for 4.

This bought the introduction of Knowles into the attack and in 4 over’s he had reduced the home sides chances of winning greatly picking up 4 for 25 and removing all Hutton’s middle order batsmen

This left Knowles and Price battling for the chance to gain a 5 wicket haul, However Knowles lost out to his young counterpart. Producing 2 in swinging Yorkers in his second spell to remover 10 and 11 to secure another win for HHCC ,9 over before the end

Next week HHCC play Wickford at home.
