Coastline boosted by funding

MAJOR improvements will be made to marshes across Thurrock following a cash injection of £800,000.

The improvements include creating links between c2c mainline train stations and marshes, improving access with new paths and signage, promoting attractions including Tilbury Fort, Coalhouse Fort and Thurrock Thameside Nature Park.

Veolia Pitsea Marshes Trust and the Veolia Mardyke Trust will provide an extra £150,000 to improve new signage and infrastructure along sections of the Thames Estuary Path.

Work on the project is scheduled to be competed by 2014.
