SOUTH BASILDON and East Thurrock MP, Stephen Metcalfe broke off is holiday to return to the House of Commons and speak on the emergency debate on this weeks rioting.
Mr Metcalfe asked the Prime Minister
“I thank my right hon. Friend for his statement, particularly the support he is offering small and medium-sized businesses. As someone whose business has been directly affected, although not disastrously, I know the disruption it is causing. Will the Prime Minister assure me that no business will be lost and no livelihood subsequently lost because of the actions of those thugs and hooligans, and that the £20 million support fund, if deemed not big enough, will be increased to make sure that those things do not happen.”
The prime minister, David Cameron replied: “Of course we will keep the issue under review, and there is the Riot (Damages) Act as well as the £20 million scheme.
I believe that should be enough, but my hon. Friend the Minister of State, Department for Business, Innovation and Skills will be on the case.
Worried about others ?, that will be a first. Our boy only cares about himself usually but then again after the Tories crapped all over the cops today perhaps the writings on the political wall for closure of this condem govt.
