Thurrock will be helping lead the nation oversee the proposed changes to the National Health Service.
As part of the transition towards national health reforms, the Department of Health invited local authorities to submit expressions of interest in becoming local HeatlhWatch pathfinders.
Thurrock Council, working with the Thurrock Local Involvement Network (LINk), made a submission to the Department and have just been informed the bid was successful.
The local HealthWatch organisations will replace local LINks from October next year. They will act as the consumer voice for people who use and need health and social care services.
The local organisations will help improve and influence the commissioning decisions made about those services
The serious work starts on Thursday, 29 September when a series of workshops are being held with stakeholders to help develop the remit of Thurrock’s HealthWatch.
