Our open meeting attracted plenty of visitors, including groups from Briscoe WI and Millwood WI. We all enjoyed a welcoming drink on arrival, very interesting nibbles provided by Sally and then settled down to listen to Linda Scoles, all the way from Suffolk, on the subject of “Everything I always wanted to know about sex”.
From her early days on a ranch in America to present-day conversations with her grandchildren, Linda entertained us with amusing anecdotes and even broke into song from time to time. Linda is a very funny lady, and Jenny spoke for us all when she gave the vote of thanks.
After tea and cakes, members were reminded of some of our future events:

We are applying for a grant and if successful, the whole institute will have the opportunity to go to Denman (the WI’s residential college in Oxfordshire) so members were asked to indicate preferred dates/courses.
We always welcome new members and visitors – you don’t have to live in Bulphan to join – you just have to be a woman!
