LOCAL charity, TRUP, has offered beds, wardrobes, TV’s, prams, sofas and kitchen white goods to those made homeless by the London riots. TRUP, (The Re-Use Project) is a charity formed to recycle, renovate and provide household goods to those on low incomes.
Trustee and Labour Councillor for Tilbury St. Chads ward Steve Liddiard said ” TRUP has two large warehouses full of furniture and household goods on the Bata estate at East Tilbury.
“We would be delighted to help our London Borough neighbours who have lost their homes due to the riots. Volunteers have come forward to offer their labour to distribute the goods.
“We shall be contacting local services providers in the stricken boroughs and hope to get the goods out next week. Donations of quality goods are always welcome and contact can be made on 01375 846702”.
