Lakeside supports MacMillan coffee morning

LAKESIDE has helped Macmillan Cancer Support raise awareness and vital funds by hosting a giant coffee morning in the shopping centre as one of its 21 Good Deeds. The one-day event raised £814 which will help to improve the lives of people affected by cancer.

Lakeside’s Starbucks, Marks and Spencer, Lush, Boots and The Body Shop all took part, donating cake, coffee and mini treatments to shoppers in exchange for donations. Kids enjoyed the event, too, by having their faces painted by Partyman World, entering a Macmillan colouring competition and playing FIFA on Xboxes supplied by Game.

Kylie Minor, Acting Marketing Manager at Lakeside, said: “Since both Lakeside and Macmillan are celebrating their 21st birthdays this year, it seemed like the perfect partnership. The event was a huge success and we were delighted that we could help such a worthy charity. We hope our shoppers will be inspired to get involved and host their own coffee mornings to raise more money for Macmillan.”
