THURROCK will have free parking on Saturdays in the whole of December.
The scheme was announced last night by deputy leader, cllr Val Morris-Cook.
The scheme comes as a pilot scheme is in full swing in Grays to allow fifteen minute “Stop to Shop”. It is hoped that the scheme is rolled out to other areas.
Cllr Rob Gledhill asked that the shops at Little Thurrock should not be forgotten.
He said: “This is the only area in Essex without any designated parking areas. We hope that you will help us as well.”
Cllr Morris-Cook pledged that she would.
