SMALL and medium sized businesses in Thurrock can get help to take on apprentices.
Thurrock Council — through the European-funded Low Carbon Business Programme — is offering the subsidies.
A small or medium sized business (SME) is defined as a one with between one and 250 employees and an annual turnover of less than €50 million (euros).
The programme is part-funded through the European Regional Development Fund and in addition to the business audits, signposting and grants already available through the programme it can now offer financial support in taking on an apprentice.
The programme will provide a significant contribution towards the wages of the apprentice with grants of up to £2,000 available for each one.
The apprentice will also receive a free sustainability workshop place so they can measurably help your business improve and grow.
