Council buck the trend with education builds

A RAFT of school and college building proposals despite the harsh economic conditions were proposed by Thurrock Council’s ruling Labour cabinet last night.

The proposals include: the development of a £1.5 million special needs base in Ormiston Park Academy; the development of further building at Tudor Court primary in Chafford Hundred and the development of buildings at Gable Hall in Corringham to meet the demand for planned motor vehicle and construction programmes.

Allied to this was a progress report on the Thurrock Learning Campus.

Leader of the Council, cllr John Kent said: “I think we should congratulate ourselves on continuing a course of building and improvement despite the harsh economic conditions.”
