WE welcomed Lyn Dale, Brenda Cordery and Olive Molineaux as new members this month, and together with visitor June Everett, we all settled down to listen to Glenys Chatterley’s talk entitled “Facing the Challenge”. Accompanied by slides, Glenys talked us through the 12 personal challenges she undertook on reaching 50. It became 13 challenges, as she also pledged to raise £10,000 for Farleigh Hospice.
Inspired by Susan Jeffers book “Face the Fear and Do It Anyway”, she drew p a list of things she was frightened of, or couldn’t really see herself doing. Getting a tattoo, wing-walking and walking on hot coals are just 3 of the 12 challenges, and Glenys kept us laughing throughout her talk.
Monica gave a report on the recent County meeting, where speaker Jan Green had been remarkably good, and arrangements were made for our outings to Hyde Hall and Lord of the Dance.
November is our AGM, where members have the opportunity to come on the committee, or to take over as president, and every member has been asked to tell us about one thing they couldn’t do without – and bring it along to show us if possible.
We always welcome new members and visitors – you don’t have to live in Bulphan to join – you just have to be a woman!
