A HIGHLIGHT in any Essex fashionista’s calendar, the Lakeside Fashion Shows returned to the centre this month to showcase key trends for Autumn/Winter 2011. Hundreds of excited shoppers gathered to watch each of the 15 shows and soak up the party atmosphere created on the catwalk to celebrate Lakeside’s 21st birthday.
Over 8,500 items from 50 stores were showcased, ranging from casual trends by Bank, Next and River Island to glamorous new looks by House of Fraser, Monsoon and Phase Eight.
Local celebrities Ashley, Jordan and Perry from dance group Diversity stopped by to enjoy the shows on Sunday and support their sister dance group, Out of the Shadows. Lakeside shoppers were also treated to high intensity performances by Got to Dance finalists Trinity Warriors who showcased key looks from Lakeside’s JD Sports.
The 3D body scanner, run by qualified stylists, made a welcome return alongside the catwalk and gave shoppers the opportunity to find out more about their accurate measurements and how to dress for their body shapes. The stylists also treated shoppers to free, 30 minute styling sessions the weekend before the fashion shows to help them find their perfect party outfits. With a huge choice of styles and sizes on loan from a wide range of stores, the “Little Black Dress” team solved party dressing dilemmas in minutes.
Lakeside’s Fashion Shows will return in spring 2011. For more information about Lakeside’s wide range of fashion stores and events, please visit www.lakeside.uk.com.
