PEOPLE living in the east of Thurrock are being offered the chance to talk face-to-face with social workers and other social care professionals about any adult social care issues they may have.
The first three sessions — held once every six weeks — are at the Thurrock Council Corringham and Stanford Housing office in Springhouse Road, Corringham.
Thurrock Council takes the “personalisation” initiative seriously. It is about choice and personal control over any assistance and support older people need to live their daily lives.
The surgeries will provide local access to Adult Social Care and will provide advice, information, and signposting to appropriate providers of services, in supporting and caring for loved ones.
It is hoped that the sessions will be able to prevent carers’ issues and minimise the need for crisis interventions. They are aimed at providing information about social care services for clients and their carers.
The first three sessions are being held between 2pm and 5pm on Thursday, 1 December, Thursday, 12 January and Thursday, 23 February. Other sessions will be advertised later, but the plan is to have them every six weeks.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to call 01375 652868 to make an appointment or just drop in on the day.
If you need information about social care services for yourself or some one you care for come and talk to someone.
