OVER 60 pupils from De La Salle School and Language College in Basildon and Ormiston Park Academy in Aveley created a ‘massive mosaic’ at an art-themed schools conference day at the Southend Campus of South Essex College.
The giant art attack was divided into 70 squares and each year 7 pupil was given at least one A1 piece of card to paint, before putting them together to reveal the image which was inspired by the college’s Further Education prospectus and represented the variety of courses the College offers.
Foundation Art & Design Course Leader at South Essex College, Matias Shortcook, said: “All the students worked brilliantly together to create one of the largest paintings ever made in the College!
“Hopefully this challenging project will have given these students an insight into some of the exciting courses and future careers open to them in Media and Creative Arts.”
