Two teenagers appear in court over ticket inspector stabbing

TWO teenagers have appeared at Basildon Magistrates Court over the alleged stabbing of a ticket inspector at East Tilbury railway station on Friday night.

Charles Culley, 19 from Darwin Road, Tilbury and a 17-year-old male that cannot be named for legal reasons were remanded to appear at Basildon Crown Court on the 9th March next year.

Culley only spoke to confirm his name. His head was bowed throughout the short appearance but he waved to friends in the public gallery.

Last night (Monday) both males were charged by British Transport Police.

Charles Culley has been charged with wounding and common assault.

A 17-year-old was charged with wounding, common assault and possession of a bladed article.


  1. Lets hope that the Courts step up to the plate in relation to this unprovoked, violent, cowardly act against someone going about their daily work…
