A WOMAN has been charged with wounding with intent following an incident at a pub in Grays on Christmas Day, Sunday.
Police were contacted shortly after 1am on Christmas Day Sunday, December 25 following reports of a disturbance inside The Oak Public House on Lodge Lane. Officers arrived to find a 22-year-old Tilbury woman with a facial injury. She was taken to Basildon University Hospital by paramedics, before being transferred to Southend University Hospital where she underwent specialist emergency surgery for a serious injury to one of her eyes.
A 22-year-old woman from Grays was arrested by police at the scene and has been charged and released on conditional bail to appear at Basildon Magistrates Court on January 12, 2012.
