Aveley 1 v 1 Carshalton
AVELEY lost the chance to boost their Ryman Premier survival prospects when they were held to a 1-1 home draw by Carshalton last night (Monday).
David Knight put the Millers ahead with a penalty seven minutes after half-time but Carshalton replied with 20 minutes left when, after a bout of ‘pass the parcel’ in front of goal, Tony Finn took the most difficult of the various shooting opportunities and fired home from a tight angle.
Knight had a chance to win it when he broke clear but shot early and wastefully. The single point leaves Millers seven points adrift of safety while Carshalton remain 13th.
