Royal Opera House Insights returns to The Thameside Theatre in Grays, Essex, on Thursday 1 March for a unique evening with The Royal Ballet and Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
The Insights evening offers the opportunity to see Royal Ballet dancers rehearsing roles that take weeks to perfect, as well as hearing from the production team about the challenges of creating a smash hit for the stage. Choreographer Christopher Wheeldon, together with Royal Ballet dancers and members of the production team, will explore a world of hedgehogs, croquet mallet flamingos, a scary Queen of Hearts and a tap-dancing Mad Hatter.
Created for The Royal Ballet by Christopher Wheeldon last year, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is a wonderful production bursting with fresh, witty choreography and bold designs. The production opens at the Royal Opera House on 17 March.
A Welcome Performance, open to families who have never been to the Royal Opera House before and with subsidised tickets priced between £5 and £20, will take place on 31 March.
