DISCOVER the murky Edwardian criminal world of baby farming as author Caitlin Davies visits Corringham Library on Wednesday, 21 March at 7pm.
Her new book The Ghost of Lily Painter is an intriguing story which moves between today and the early 1900s.
It is based on true events where individuals offered pregnant mothers a solution for their unwanted babies, “farming” them out to others and how this less well-known part of history resulted in many babies dying from neglect or murder.
Listen to Caitlin Davies reading from her exciting new book and talking about this fascinating and shocking period of history. Tickets are available from Corringham Library, cost is £1.50. Please call 01375 678534 for more information and to book your ticket.
