FIRE CREWS were called to Arkwright Road in Tilbury following reports of a gas leak in Tilbury.
Firefighters stood by at the scene of a gas leak while Gas Board engineers worked to fix the problem.
At 19:23 hrs, crews reported that the leak appeared to be considerable and that they had one main jet laid out as a precaution.
The incident was dealt with by 20:57 hrs.
