LAST YEAR, GRAY’S very own Russell Brand went to Kenya to see the work that Anne Owiti does in the slums near Nairobi.
The Thurrock connection is that Anne’s daughter, Lynda, a journalist, lives in Stifford Clays.
Anne’s work is remarkable and that is why it has featured on Comic Relief and a host of other programmes.
As Anne visited Thurrock recently, we met her at the Thameside Theatre to talk about her work and what the people of Thurrock can do for Kenya.
