IT MAY only be March but many of the events around the borough, take a long time to plan. The Corringham Winter Fayre is one of them.

So it is good news that Corringham councillors are uniting to encourage people to get involved in running the 2012 winter fayre.

Cllr Phil Anderson said “The winter fayre committee have done a great job over the last few years, and we want to put on record our thanks for their efforts to make this such a brilliant annual event. With the current committee standing down, the chair on the Corringham and Fobbing Community Forum, Danni Tate has agreed to head up a new team to run this year’s fayre. But she can’t do it alone, and we now need some volunteers to come alongside her and help with the fundraising and organisation”.

Cllr Phil Smith said “March may seem early to be thinking about next Christmas, but you do need to allow plenty of time to organise an event like this. An initial meeting has been arranged on Monday 16th April at 7pm in Corringham library. If you are willing to help or just want to find out a bit more about what is involved, then please come along”.

For more details, contact Danni Tate on 07944 655733 or [email protected].

  1. This is really nice to put politics aside, and work together for a good cause.

What would be even better is if Labour and the Conservatives put their differences aside for another good cause and that’s the people of Thurrock.

There are good individuals within both camps, and if they all worked together and stopped the petty squabbling they could make the people of Thurrock proud in knowing that they are all prepared to work together.

    And then I woke up!
