THE M25 WAS in chaos this morning after a multi-vehicle collision.
The M25 has been closed following a collision involving two HGVs and two other vehicles.
No one was trapped as a result of the incident but an unknown amount of a potentially dangerous chemical (Cyclpoentanona Trimetil Pentil) is involved.
Firefighters in breathing apparatus are working at the scene.
Update 10:48hrs: Firefighters in breathing apparatus are working to establish if the chemical drum has been badly damaged and if this has caused a leak. The road remains closed. Essex Police are on the scene.
Update 11:30hrs: Firefighters are standing by waiting to assist in the removal of the vehicles from the roadway.
Update 12:13hrs: Firefighters have now completed their work making the vehicles safe on the M25. The scene has been left in the care of the Highways Agency.
