THE LAST TIME YT spoke to Hassenbrook student Talia McKenzie was when she had her head shaved for charity at Lauren D’Auray in Stanford.

A few years later and she is back!

Year 11 student Talia Mackenzie will be skydiving for charity on 16th August 2012 to raise money for a charity very close to her heart, the Cardio Myopathy Association. Sadly she has lost her nan and uncle to this condition and her dad, siblings and family have been diagnosed with the gene which could develop into this heart muscle disease later in life.

The tandom jump will take place 10,000 feet up (2 miles) over the Kent countryside weather permitting of course, with just a couple of hours safety training, a strong stomach and friends and family cheering her on!

Talia isn’t new to fundraising, in Year 9 she shaved her head for a cancer charity and now feels the time is right to have a go at something a little more daring. We wish you lots of luck with the jump and any future fundraising events you take part in when you leave this summer. If you would like to make a donation please go to:
