Your Voice auditions set for the weekend

IS your voice the voice? Then come and show it off and experience the stage, the crowd, the spotlight and win the chance to record your own demo.

Your Voice is an exciting performance opportunity for young singers in Thurrock aged between 11 to 18 to develop stagecraft skills by performing live at the Thameside Theatre, Orsett Road, Grays on Thursday, 17 May at 7.30pm.

Auditions will be held at the same venue on Saturday, 21 April from 10am to 1pm.

Each show is supported by a special guest who will offer support and encouragement to the performers and will be performing themselves.

Previous special guests include Justin Bieber Tribute UK, The Tootsie Rollers and Tall Dark Friend

Soloists, duets and groups are welcome.

Your Voice Musical Director, Shana Elliott-Hayers, said: “Your Voice was created to help build confidence in local young talent, which ultimately allows each and every singer at every level to grow as a performer.

“We are looking for singers who feel ready to showcase their voice to a live audience, and would welcome anyone along to our open auditions. Auditions are more of a ‘mentoring’ session than us ‘judging’ singers on their ability.

“We want to offer all singers/groups and duos (of varying genres) the chance to experience the feeling of being on the stage with an audience waiting to hear your voice, and for the singers to be proud of what they have achieved.”

Holly Hannigan, a previous performer, aged 15, said: “Your Voice is a good experience to build confidence in performing live on stage to an audience. It’s lots of fun and you get to meet other performers who share the same interest.”
