SEVEN FIRE CREWS attended at the port of Tilbury after fire broke out in a grain terminal.
Crews were called to Tilbury Docks after fire broke out in a mechanical shovel in the hold of a ship carrying 500 tonnes of grain.
Firefighters arriving at the scene worked alongside the ship’s crew to extinguish the fire and by 20:06 hrs confirmed it was out and that port workers were now removing the shovel from the ship’s hold.
The incident was dealt with by 20:20 hrs.
We have no information relating to the cause at this stage.
